VXT's Billing Policy

When you add or remove items from your account like users and phone numbers during your billing cycle, charges and credits are prorated. In this article, we break down what that means with examples.

The primary subscription for VXT Phone includes users and phone numbers. You pay for each user and phone number on your account, monthly or annually, providing you access to unlimited domestic calling, among other features. Our pricing is listed here.

VXT also provides Usage add-ons that are not included in your primary subscription.

What happens if you add or remove users or phone numbers partway through your billing cycle?

Additions

If you add a user or phone number partway through your billing cycle you are charged immediately for the remaining time between when you add them to your account and your next renewal, and we send an invoice/receipt to your billing email address.

For example, if you add a user or phone number exactly halfway through your billing cycle, instead of the full charge, you will be immediately charged half your typical fee for that user or phone number. 

Removals

If you remove (delete) a user or phone number partway through your billing cycle a credit will be applied for the remaining unused time between when you remove them and your next renewal. 

Importantly, if you cancel your services before your next renewal i.e. you do not receive another renewal invoice from VXT, these credits can not be redeemed as a refund.

For example, if you remove a user or phone number exactly halfway through your billing cycle a credit will be applied to your next renewal of exactly half your typical fee for that user or phone number. 

Payment cards

VXT requires a card on file at all times to provide services. 

Payment by card is required for monthly subscriptions.

Invoices

Pay by invoice is only offered on annual subscriptions (paid in advance).

Invoices are due on the date that they are sent unless otherwise stated on the invoice.

Invoices that are not automatically paid using the card on file will be automatically charged using the card on file if they remain unpaid for 30 days or more.  

Usage add-ons

Usage add-ons are not included in your Call subscription and include outbound SMS (per message), outbound international calls (per minute), and inbound calls to toll-free and other special numbers (per minute). 

A special phone number differs from standard numbers due to its unique purpose, format, or cost structure e.g. shared-cost, 1300 numbers in Australia.

 

Usage add-ons are always automatically charged at the end of the month for Usage fees incurred in the preceding month i.e. if you placed 100 minutes of outbound international calls during June you will be charged for those calls at the end of the month.
