When a call is recorded, you have the option to transcribe that call and summarize the recording afterward.
📣 As of February 16, 2025, AI transcripts and summaries are free and turned on by default for new users.
Steps to transcribe your call
- Select the conversation
- Click on the inbox icon in the upper left-hand corner of your screen to view your list of conversations.
- Go to your conversation history
- Open VXT and navigate to your conversation history with the person you just spoke with or the conversation you want to transcribe.
- Find the call to transcribe
- Locate the call you want to transcribe in the conversation history. Hover over the call recording to reveal additional options.
- Once you hover over, you can see an option for transcription and summarization.
- Click on transcription
- Click the “Transcription” option to automatically convert the call recording into text.

Steps to summarize your call
- Find the call to summarize
- In the same conversation history, hover over the call recording you want to summarize.

- Click on summary
- Click the “Summary” option to receive a brief summary of the call’s content.

How to edit the prompt used for summarization
Admins can customize the summarization prompt to better suit their needs:
- Go to the Admin panel
- Navigate to Admin -> Configuration -> Transcription.
- Edit the prompt for summarization
- Here, you can modify the prompt to guide the summarization process.
Example prompts include:- "Generate a short, sharp summary of this call. Don't leave any key details out."
- "Summarize the main points discussed in this call in a concise and clear format."
- "Provide a bullet-point summary of the key topics and decisions made in this call."
- "Create a 2-3 sentence summary highlighting the most important information from this call."
- Here, you can modify the prompt to guide the summarization process.
