Setting your own voicemail greeting is subtle but effective way to build relationships with clients and customers. Not only does a personalised message let your contacts know they are leaving a voicemail with the right person, but it can communicate your brand to your customers and potential clients.

To set up your own greeting, enter the ‘greeting’ settings tab inside Vxt. You can select this down the bottom left of your screen, as shown in the image below.

From here, you will be able to record both default and contact-based greetings. This is shown at the top of the screen. You can easily change and delete greetings from this section, as well as adding multiple greetings.

To record a new greeting, simply press the '+' icon next to Default. You will then need to give your greeting a name. In this case, I have named it 'Example'.

From here, simply record the greeting you want to use. Something simple usually works best. The best greetings are often between 4 to 8 seconds long. Press the 'Record' button to tape your greeting and tap the 'Play' button to listen back.

If you are unhappy with your recording, you can simply re-do the message by pressing the 'record' button again. This will tape over your previous recording.

When you have finished your recording and are happy with it, select 'Save' in the top-right corner.

You will now have successfully recorded your default voicemail greeting. This will play whenever someone calls you and goes through to your voicemail.
