Managing authentication methods for new users

This article shows how VXT admins can choose which login methods new users can use, helping improve security and access control.

In this article, we’ll cover:

Understanding allowed authentication methods

Authentication methods are the ways new users can sign in or create an account on VXT. These might include logging in using email and password, Google login, Microsoft login, or other identity providers.

This setting lets admins choose which of these login methods are allowed when new users join the platform. It helps control and secure how people access your organization’s VXT account.

How to set allowed authentication methods for new users

Follow these steps to specify the login methods new users can use:

  1. Open the app and locate the admin section at the bottom left-hand corner of your screen.
  2. In the admin section, click on configuration.
  3. In the configuration page, select security.
  4. You’ll see a dropdown next to Allowed Authentication Methods.
  5. Click the dropdown and select your preferred login method(s):
    • Email and Password
    • Microsoft
    • Google
    • Or any combination of these

Make sure to select the options that best suit your company’s needs. Once set, only the chosen methods will be available for new users joining your VXT organization.

By setting the allowed authentication methods, you’re adding an extra layer of security and consistency for your team. If you need help choosing the best setup, feel free to reach out to your VXT admin or support team!
