Android device settings

If you are using VXT on a device running Android, like a Samsung, this article covers some settings that you should change to make sure VXT works best.

💡 The exact steps to access and change the settings discussed in this article may differ depending on your phone.

Turn on Face ID

Android requires your phone to be unlocked for VXT to successfully answer a call. Fingerprint and passcodes are ok, but Face ID is by far the fastest way to answer your phone and will allow you to successfully answer incoming calls more reliably.

To enable Face ID follow these instructions:

💡 Steps may differ depending on your phone.
  1. Open the Settings app on your device.
  2. Open Security and privacy
  3. Open Biometrics
  4. Open Face recognition
  5. Set up face recognition and make sure "Face unlock" is enabled

Battery

Android can restrict the applications on your device to save battery life. In some circumstances Android can prevent incoming calls from being delivered to your device to make this less likely you should change the battery settings on your device in two places using the following steps.

Add VXT to never sleeping apps:

  1. Open the Settings app on your device
  2. Open Battery and device care
  3. Open Battery
  4. Open Background usage limits
  5. Open Never sleeping apps
  6. Add VXT to the list of Never sleeping apps

Unrestrict VXT's battery usage

  1. Open the Settings app on your device
  2. Open Apps
  3. Open VXT
  4. Open Battery
  5. Select Unrestricted

Congratulations! 🥳 You have now set up your device to make sure VXT works best.
